Self-Care

The World Health Organization defines self-care as the ability of individuals, families, and communities to promote and support health, prevent disease, and cope with illness and disability with or without the support of a healthcare worker. Today, it is more common for women to spend their time taking care of others, many times ignoring their own health and wellness needs. To achieve our goals, it is essential to incorporate positive habits to ensure overall wellness. The value of self-care is well-recognized; 80% of women understand the value, however only 32% practice self-care.
